14-21
As I was about to leave the house this morning, I had to smile at these bedfellows. ..Both fast asleep! Such a peaceful sight! Right after the show, I came home & within a couple of hours we were winding our way through the rolling hills of the Overberg…
And then we arrived at our destination for the weekend. We’ve never been here before…
It has loads of character. This is where we will have dinner tonight…
I love the dog & the ambiance is just lovely & cosy. We walked around the town enjoying the quaintness. ..
And we met some of the residents, but they tried to run away from us!
It is so very quiet here…no sounds of traffic or the sirens that seem to plague Kommetjie Rd! Greyton was founded in 1854 and the village is steeped in history. The Main Rd is lined with oak trees, now void of all their leaves but must be a spectacular sight in summer. We went to the local information centre and got a couple of maps of nearby trails. It has been very wet here, with lots of rain, even this morning, but now the sun has come out and the only noise to break the amazing silence are a few birds tweeting in nearby trees and the rapid ‘ticking’ of my fingers over the keyboard! I’ve never noticed them before!
Our digs are okay. The only downside is that they said they had free wi-fi AND THEY DON’T! Mike was horrified! I did most of this blog on my cell phone and then to fix it up and format it properly and copy the link to FB, Mike turned my cell phone into a hotspot and that’s how I am now connected! Amazing! Well done Mike!
It is the day before our 27th wedding anniversary & Mike & I both agree ” The Lord has done great things for us & we are filled with joy!” Psalm 126:3
God Bless you loads.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
