Roof Trusses Arrive

Saturday

Today was the day…

The roof trusses arrived. This was a surprise. Late yesterday afternoon I didn’t get a chance to do the walk through on our floor and see all the rooms demarcated with their light steel frame walls, so this morning I was eager to visit. Mike and I went down to the site before 8am. It was amazing taking that first step up onto our floor, but instead of it being a wide open space, there is now a doorway. Inside, you can see the size of the small entrance, where the stairs will start going up to Julian’s floor, the door for the guest bathroom and the door to our home. It was surreal seeing the design come together. Mike has done a fabulous job. We ended up going one floor up and sat on what will be Julian’s balcony. While we were there, we suddenly saw a trailer load of light steel frame drive up the road.

The roof trusses along with a few remaining walls had arrived. We watched them unload and then eventually they got carried up…I think this is Julian’s study door section.

It was hard work…one of the picture window walls.

Lots more to go…

We had a long profitable chat with Werner. Initially, he was going to get Julian’s framing up from Monday but with inclement weather forecast for Wednesday, he thinks he’ll wait til after the storm has hit and then do it.

It’s always interesting to look back. It brings perspective. This picture was taken on 6th June 2018…Mike, Werner and Paul the engineer, scrambling up the back with Mike’s sticks showing where he thinks the house will go…we have come a long, long way since then.

I remember taking this photo on the same day…

Today was the day my new tenant for the Fish Hoek flat was approved. I got her proof of income and a reference and we are good to go. I just need to send her the lease agreement.

The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.

The best is yet to come.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.
