Guest Medical Drama

Monday

Dear Elsie

Today was the day you got a reward star at school for being a good example to your classmates! Well done! We are so proud of you!

For us it’s been a busy Monday. I have worked 10 hours. I did no exercise, started early and finished a short while ago. That’s the nature of Monday’s. So much work, so little time. I did manage to just about get on top of things, with a little more catching up to do tomorrow.

Ruth came to clean the loft as guests are coming in shortly. That’s all ready, with the loft window always being the star of the show.

There was drama today. Guest drama. It happened so suddenly. One of our regular guests who comes a couple of times a year had been prescribed antibiotics. He took the first one and within minutes had swollen up. His right eye was completely puffy and he was feeling the allergy kind of feeling in his throat. Mike rushed him down to the doctor, by which stage he was struggling to speak and about to pass out. He was rushed through to the treatment room. The Doctor immediately put up a drip and gave him cortisone and some form of antihistamine. He started feeling a little better but at the same time, within a short period, the medication made him feel very drowsy. After about an hour and a half, the medication had reversed the allergy effects but he was ‘zonked out’. Mike bought him home to sleep and that’s where he is.

Sheez. That was a rush of blood. These things happen so quickly. What we did was the best option. Mike put him in the car and took him to Medicross Fish Hoek. They were great. I’ll keep an eye on him and hope he’s back to normal tomorrow.

Grateful it ended ok.

Psalm 36:5
Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
