Saturday
Today was the day…
We swam in the sea twice! I don’t think we have ever done that before. But first, we’ve had some pretty spectacular sunrises. This was one of them…
The beaches are open from 6am to 7pm, so we went down at just after 6:30am, walked to the end of the beach and back and then had a lovely swim.
Every morning, the cormorants take to the skies for their exercise and we love to watch them, but today there was a loner – one who was off the exercise hook – swimming alone in the shallows. It was so entertaining watching him dive under the waves as they broke on the shore. He was having as much fun as Mike and David who love to ride the waves and dive beneath them if they don’t get them in time. I prefer to keep my head above the water, but today got dumped a number of times!
The shark nets only get put out at 8am, so I didn’t get to swim to the drum. This afternoon, we did the same thing. The sea has been absolutely wonderful – it’s not very warm, but it’s just so refreshing.
In between the two swims, I did some paid work as well as house chores and Mike and I also went shopping.
It’s my sister’s birthday so I phoned and had a lovely catch up with her.
One of the views we enjoy each day is of the mountain behind us. Sometimes, when it’s cloudy and the light is right, it looks quite dramatic…
Suddenly Christmas is over. Our Covid numbers in South Africa continue to climb and we need to be more and more vigilant. Tomorrow we most likely will pass the millionth case of Covid-19 in South Africa. A horrible milestone none of us wants to see. It looks like stricter conditions could be on the way.
John 3:16
God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
The best is yet to come.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
