Before & After – The Bedside Table.

1-56pm

It’s one of our top differences… Mike is organised and I am not! In my cleaning of out our bedroom and bathroom, I cleaned Mike’s bedside table. It took me all of 5 minutes. He hardly noticed because his was pretty orderly anyway. When it came to my bedside table? Different story!

Messy bedside tableBad hey?! I think it was probably worse because as I’d cleaned the bathroom out, some stuff had found had been tossed messily onto the table. Anyway! It was time. It didn’t take much time! Maybe 15 to 20 minutes and VOILA!

Clean bedside tableI deserve a Noddy Badge!Noddy badge One of the best things about clearing out, cleaning up and then blogging about it is the response. You won’t believe how many people tell me that they read my blog about whatever clean-up I was doing and ‘got inspired’ so do something similar! What always surprises me is how short a time it actually takes. When you think about going to see a movie – 100 minutes – I could sort out A STACK of stuff in 100 minutes. In fact that is too long for my attention span. I need a break after about 30. I say, “okay, I’m going to spend the next 20 minutes cleaning this cupboard.”  I get on with it. Regularly 20 minutes comes and goes and as the minutes increase, so does my motivation in getting the job done.  Yip. Give yourself a few minutes, and before you know it, you will have been cleaning & sorting for an hour!

Today, I had other work to do. It’s some computer stuff and so I got on with it quite early. I ‘walked’  to work – it took 30 seconds…got there about 7-30am. My home office has a very casual dress code!

PajamasI had on a black long sleeve t-shirt under my pajamas, because it was so cold last night. But I’m glad to tell you, I was at gym by 9, showered by 10-30am and was back at the office dressed by 11…

DressedMost people can reach back in their mind to a time when they were young and find an unhappy memory. It may be as bad as abuse from a close family member or bullying at school. It may be a time in your life when you felt abandoned, unwanted and alone. I know I have experienced that. We are not alone in our feelings. The Psalmist experienced it too. He writes, Psalm 129 vs 2

“They have greatly oppressed me from my youth, but they have not gained the victory over me.”

And so it is with you and me. We may have arrived in adulthood feeling a bit bruised and emotionally battered, but it need not gain the victory over you. GOD IS BIGGER.

God can turn a messThere is no need for you to feel oppressed or downcast today. God is with you. He will strengthen you and uphold you and you will be victorious because Jesus gained the victory on your behalf! So keep the smile going and cling to the Lord.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
