3-02pm
This morning when I woke up, I had a moment where I said, “Enough is enough! I should not be in pain every moment of every day! Today I am going to go to the doctor!”
What I haven’t mentioned is that about three months ago, I overdid some exercise one weekend and hurt my achilles tendons…
Since then, walking has gone from mildly uncomfortable to pretty excruciating depending on what I’m doing. If you suddenly wonder why I haven’t been caddying for Mike, it’s because I’ve been trying to ease off with walking too much. I stopped any form of running just before Christmas and have had about two weeks of doing very little weight bearing exercise. Cycling to the beach was my remedy for burning some calories without putting too much stress on my feet.
And after it all, they are no better…in fact they seem worse! So this morning, I decided to go and see the doctor. He said my both my achilles tendons are very inflamed. Mine are bad, but he has seen worse. They are very tender all the time. Rest doesn’t help. I go to bed with pain and I wake up with pain. It’s TIME! Please, I want new ones!
No walking up hill, physio and anti-inflammatory pills and shoe inserts to relieve pressure on the achilles. So, we’ll see how all that works, shall we? He also said I have to be very careful that I don’t jerk it, because if it breaks, it will mean surgery or an extensive period of immobilisation!
Everything is relative. So I live with a little pain and NOW I have pills!
Nothing else in my life is bad – I just have to take the next step!
If things are not going well in your life, do something positive. You want to go to bed tonight thinking about something useful that you did.
The useful thing that I did today is that I moved my bed and swept underneath it! 😯
Wow! I didn’t know so much dust could accumulate. I go to bed tonight knowing that under my bed is as clean as a whistle! I’ve got a bit of to-do list for before the end of the week. We go into the new year spic and span…mostly!

Now for a laugh…Maggie Smith turned 80 yesterday and she has the final word on all that is happening on Facebook these days…(thanks Lynda!)
Keep the smile going!
God bless you!
In His Grip,
