Sunday 29th January 2012 – “So Pharoah’s heart was hard”

Sunday 29th January 2012

Exodus 9: 34-35 “When Pharoah saw that the rain and hail and thunder had stopped, he sinned again: he and his officials hardened their hearts. So Pharoah’s heart was hard and he would not let the Israelites go, just as the Lord had said through Moses.”

God gave Pharoah so many chances. All he needed to do was to be obedient. Things could have turned out so differently. When we don’t obey God, we sin. Beth Moore says it so well “Nothing sin can give us is worth what it takes away from us.” In the end Pharoah lost everything, including his first-born son. If only he had obeyed God right at the beginning, when frogs were threatened to invade. Nip the sin in the bud.

The other thing about this is that as there were so many chances, Pharoah could have turned to God right at the end. But eventually it was too late. God loves us so much, He is the God of many chances. He wants each of us to turn to Him and seek Him in our time of need and in our time of pleasure. Today is the day for you to turn to Him. Don’t delay. You never know when it may be too late.
