Psalm 138:8 says “The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; Your love, O Lord endures forever – do not abandon the words of Your hands.”
The Lord has a plan and purpose for each one of us. We need to seek Him and find that purpose. It may be very different to the one you have ever thought. And I believe that God grows His plan in our lives as time passes by. The Lord’s plan for Esther in her early years was to allow her to go through the suffering of losing her parents. His ultimate purpose for her was to use her to save Israel.
The plans the Lord has for us are for our good (Jeremiah 29:11). We may be in the centre of His will and yet still not understanding what His plan for us is. We may be living each day a bit goal-less, just striving to do God’s will each day and live by His Word. Don’t think God doesn’t have a plan for you, when this is what you are doing. He is working around you…. all the time. He sees what is ahead. He has your future planned. You are in the palm of His hand. The hairs on your head are counted. God knows where He’s taking you. You may not know, but He does! He has an ultimate purpose for you. He may not spell it out all in one shot, but it is there. And the Lord will fulfill that purpose for you. His love for you endures forever. He will never abandon you and what He is doing in your life.
Be patient. God will reveal His perfect plan for you, over time, unfolding His ultimate purpose for your life, in a way that you can manage!
