Yeah! Swellendam Visit

Saturday

Today I woke up at about 4am and by 5am I was picking up David. We glided through quiet Fish Hoek streets, through to Muizenberg and onto Baden Powell Drive. True to my regular form, I counted the cars I passed. Only 40! It was very quiet – an easy trip through to Caledon where we stopped for coffee and a break. We arrived in Swellendam at 8am.  It was wonderful to see the family and spend some time with them. David got Elsie playing Stacey’s keyboard, gave her a quick harmonica demonstration and generally entertained her with his antics.

I hadn’t seen Elsie for about 6 weeks. She has been unwell this last week and is currently on antibiotics. She is on the mend and this afternoon was particularly cheerful, although with all the activity, by 6pm, she was exhausted and did not spend too much time delaying bed time. Elsie is adorable. So cute! Saying all these words and becoming a real toddler. She is almost 15 months old.

Stacey made a lovely dinner after which we set off to the cottage we are staying in tonight…it has a pool table!

I’ve never played pool before! Ha ha! It was a sight to behold. The cottage is spacious and comfortable. It is very quiet.

Tomorrow we will drive back to Cape Town. Swellendam is going to be warm and sunny…

Missing Mike tonight but he tells me in my absence, Truffles is particularly affectionate towards him!

James 3:18

Those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

Helga xx 🙂
