We May Not Be Able To Build

“We may not be able to build at all.” These were the sobering words the builder said today when we met at the site along with the engineer. The plot is so steep. There is already a cottage on it. These two factors combined need the inspector to visit to see if building is lawful and safe. So that is the next step. The builder will organise to meet the inspector. After that we will have a greater idea of whether this enormous building project will indeed go ahead.  This is the roof of the current cottage…

Mike with the builder and engineer looking at the inspection holes…

Mike asking the engineer all his questions…

The engineer says the house according to Mike’s plans is completely buildable. The bottom line lies with whether the council will allow us to build such a large second dwelling. We will need a waiver and the one neighbour’s permission. It may be difficult for that neighbour to say no because he is encroaching way over his boundary! We’ll wait and see. There is a bit of suspense in the journey!

I don’t think it is by accident that all my Bible verses in my diary in June are on wisdom. For this build, much wisdom is required. I appreciate all of Mike’s hard work on doing the basic sketch plans. I also appreciate the wisdom of the builder and engineer in following the right route in getting the inspector in before we pass the plans onto the architect. If it’s not going to work, we’d rather find out sooner rather than later. The Lord knows.

Proverbs 24:14

Wisdom is sweet to your soul. If you find it, you will have a bright future, and your hopes will not be cut short.

So today was work, followed by a visit to Echo, followed by gym, more work and now an early blog because Julian arrives in a couple of hours and I’ll be doing the airport run.

#683 of my 1000 thanks is for breakfast of fruit salad….my favourite dish…

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

Gym: I spent 50 minutes in the pool and swam 60 lengths, 52 were freestyle (crawl) and the other 8 were 4 breast stroke and 4 back stroke. Felt good.
