View Through My Window

The main thing about today was that I got to actually SEE the view through my window. Over the last few months, the amount of dust from the building site behind has been so high that the windows got dirtier and dirtier until you could hardly see through them. The south easter is continuing to blow and the building operation is back in full swing, stamping up clouds of brown dust,  but I could handle it no longer, so I cleaned the windows….

Meanwhile on the other side of my study, off our bedroom there has been plenty of activity.

Truffles has been hanging out with her eyes sharply focused on the bird bottle…

The bird bottle is always a hive of activity and now that I work from home, I am provided with an ongoing buzz of entertainment.  I filled the bottle up on Saturday. It had to be filled up again today. It is special bird mixture and contains probiotics so I hope I’m not giving the Sun Valley sun-bird population diabetes!

I took a video….at times there are 3 on the bottle and 4 on the bird seed frame which is on the right camouflaged by the vine.

Quite fun. No wonder Truffles is all attention.

Summer in Cape Town with the temperature rising to about 31C. It’s such a beautiful day today. The windows are all open – and I’m enjoying working with the breeze coming in through the windows above.

Tomorrow, Mike and I are off to a golf event. He booked for 18 holes at Rondebosch Golf Club which I don’t think he has played before. I  can’t help but get excited. Tomorrow will be hot but not too windy. We’re getting a cart so that we can really enjoy the golf. I would love to do this once a month, heading for a different course each time and picking the day according to the wind and the weather.  Yay! And because we are taking a cart, I won’t be absolutely exhausted and will be able to continue working on our return.

I was reminded this morning to pray about anything and everything. Abraham’s servant was off on a mission to find a wife for Isaac.  On the brink of finding the right girl, he prayed.

Genesis 24:12 – 13

“Then he prayed, “O Lord, God of my master Abraham, give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham. See I am standing beside this spring…”

I love that.  “Standing beside this spring”…..asking God to see him and give him success. Whatever spring we are standing beside, whether it be on the brink of a new job, or planning or taking a trip, or changing homes or whatever it is, don’t forget to pray!

I’ve got a number of projects planned over the months and even years ahead. Much prayer is required.

I will pray!

#157 of my 1000 thanks – golf tomorrow! 🙂

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
