Two SMS’s

Our house plans are chugging through Council. This morning I got an update SMS…

Couple of hours later…

Leanne warned me of this. She wrote a number of days ago to say we will get a message saying there was an issue. She would deal with it. So that’s the one. I don’t have to do anything with it. We chug on. We are just waiting. Waiting for the quote. Waiting to see when we can start building. Waiting to decide if we are going to go on a 5 and a half week holiday in the middle of the build!

Half of me says go this year, you have budgeted for it and the house most likely will be delayed. The other half says, it’s such a lot of money to spend when we have the build obligations.

Half of me says yes, let’s go. It will be so fun getting back and seeing the progress. The other half says, no! What about all the details? What if they put toilets in the wrong place or plugs or doors or windows? What if they make doors  open out when they should be opening in? This will freak Mike out!

But if we don’t go this year and postpone to end of 2020, not only will Mike need a new passport, he’ll also need a new Schengen visa.

So now 75% of me says go this year.

We’ll see if that stays the same tomorrow!

I worked 5.5 hours today. I left the new applicant number at 1032 yesterday. When I got online this morning it was at 1038. I reduced it by 10 and came back this afternoon to it at a 1031. I got it down to 1014. I’ll see what it’s like tomorrow.

I also went to my lovely ladies meeting as well.

This evening I had a video chat with Elsie (and Stacey). Elsie is so cute. I can see she’s got big. She loves her feet hangs onto them. She stared at the camera wondering how I got there. I got a couple of smiles out of her and towards the end she babbled a bit. I look forward to seeing her again, but it probably will only be in a few weeks.

For a couple of hours earlier we had wonderful rain and it’s been chilly. The biggest casualty of the cold in our house is the cat. Truffles in winter is long-haired and fluffy. In summer she sheds and becomes shorter haired and silky. But then she feels it when a cold snap hits. Last night even, she was desperate to sleep on top of me. She came and jumped on the bed. I put her on the chair. That happened about 8 times. Eventually, she settled down. I turned the light out and went to sleep. I woke up with her asleep on my back. When I rolled onto my side and she fell off, she promptly burrowed her way under the duvet and curled up next to me.

She clearly won.

This evening with it being even cooler, she has been following me around like a puppy. Where I go, she goes. If I’m in bed, she’s on the bed with me. I came to my computer and she settled on my lap. I went downstairs to watch some TV. She followed. Back at my computer and she is curled up – a ball of fur…

Bed time!
