Two Showers in One Day

Yip! There were a couple of highlights today, the second has to be that I had not one but TWO showers today. For both, I left the tap running for the duration. They were also longer than 2 minutes. It was bliss.

Mike and I woke at about 4-30am and by 5-15am we were on our way out-of-town – destination: Swellendam.

It was an education driving out of Cape Town at that time of the morning. The thing that left us pretty incredulous was the massive amount of traffic heading into town on the N2. As we left the city, it was not yet 6am, yet the traffic was almost bumper to bumper close to the R300 right into town. We also passed a couple of dozen police vehicles spread out along the N2 travelling into the city. A river of cars creating an early morning pre-6am rush hour. Very happy that this was not our lot in life. We made good time, missing two of the stop and go points (which had not yet been put in place). We got through to Riviersonderend and stopped there for breakfast. By the time we left it was close to 8am and there were three stop and go points between Riviersonderend and Swellendam. We pulled into Adrian and Stacey’s house at about 8-45am. It was wonderful to see them. After greeting and hugging, the first thing we wanted? A shower! They have a new shower head on their guest bathroom shower….take a look at this…

That was worth the drive! It was fabulous. One this morning and one this evening. What a treat.

But the bigger treat has to be this….Stacey and I – Stace is now 8 months pregnant.

The photo above was today. The photo below was 6 weeks ago.

We all had to work today. When Mike had finished what he needed to do, he went to play golf. I had a stack of work and waded my way through it. By 3-50pm, I was finished (in more ways than one!). We went for an early dinner to this wonderful restaurant. It closes at 6pm. It is just off the N2 by the Somerset Rd entrance to Swellendam. If you are ever passing by, it’s absolutely worth a visit. Tredici.

We did a spot of shopping after and then headed home for coffee.

And now the day is at its end.

#635 of my 1000 thanks has to be being here with my daughter and son-in-law.

Psalm 34:17

The Lord hears His people when they call to Him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

No gym today, but I did walk the 2km to the restaurant. 🙂
