Two Days Before Christmas

It’s feeling very Christmassy around our house. The family is here and tomorrow Stacey and Adrian arrive. There have been family meals and games of 30 seconds and laughter and conversation. There is much to be grateful for, but one of things that hit high on our list of gratitude is our health. The vision in Mike’s left eye is almost normal. The lesion taken off his back is healing well. Never take your health for granted.

# 516 of my 1000 thanks is that my friend Peppi got a kidney transplant this month. For such a long time she has been labouring through endless hours of dialysis. The last time I saw her which was much earlier on in 2017, she looked exhausted, out of breath and in really bad shape. Then suddenly a week or two ago a kidney became available and she was the blessed recipient. A couple of weeks post op and she is already so much better. I’m so grateful for this.

My secret (or maybe not so secret) addiction at this time of the year is CHERRIES! I love fresh cherries. I buy them loose and munch my way through them. I was going a bit over the top, so decided I better find out what cherries contain that is good for you. Ha! Look what I found…

So maybe a short-term binge on them isn’t too bad after all!

Today I went to the airport and collected a colleague and her husband and took them to their hotel. This is the first member of the company for which I work who I have ever met in real life. I haven’t yet met the MD/owner of the company. I don’t really need to. I know her via Skype. My colleague, Dee and I spend a lot of time on Skype and to meet her in real life today was quite surreal. I’ll see her again next week and hope to get some photos.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

Matthew 2:1

When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,
