Truffles Lives Another Day

Monday

I was up in the night tempting Truffles with chicken and water. When we woke up this morning, she seemed a bit better, even having a few sips of water on her own.

By 8am I was sitting in the waiting room at the vet. She was admitted for the day, had sub cutaneous fluids and blood tests.

I received a phone call at lunchtime to say please come in at 3-30pm as the vet needed to speak to me. My heart sank. This was it – it was time to say goodbye. I was absolutely certain Truffles had some dreadful issue and that it was the kinder thing to do to have her put down. With my heart heavy and Mike for support we went to the vet. The vet joyfully announced that it’s not good news but she had a definitive diagnosis.

Truffles has liver disease. She’s now on a week’s antibiotic and ongoing daily dose of cortisone.

And just like that Truffles death sentence ended and we paid the bill, packed up the cat and came home!

I was so happy! And so relieved.

So was Truffles.  She has now eaten and is looking much more relaxed, albeit a little dopey

And she was hungry…

It was great to have her home.

At just after 5pm, Mike and I went off to Echo to see today’s progress. Mike has been on the phone to Werner on and off today about a new lightweight foundations product that will be useful to use and so much easier to get onto the plot. Werner said quite a lot of excavation had been done. First thing we noticed when we arrived. We have a builder’s loo…when this thing gets carried off, the building will be finished. That is unbelievable!

Mike walking up the site…part of the steps are covered in rubble right now.

The hole is beginning to get bigger…

Mike pointing something out…

Rebar connectors…I think…

Home for dinner. Truffles was still sitting outside. She came in and has now wandered upstairs and is settling in on a chair. Hopefully, she will be VERY comfortable and I will get to sleep through the night tonight.

Psalm 107:28

They cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress.

Amen.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
