Throwing Rocks

Monday

Work was quite quiet this morning but picked up at lunchtime and kept me busy for a lot of the afternoon. It’s a public holiday in South Africa but working for an international company leaves me the option to work, which I did.

Courage came and continued with the painting work we need him to do. He is thorough and does a great job. Mike completed the upholstery for the bay window in the kitchen and it’s looking so clean and smart!

At the end of the day, we watched a Grand Design and during it Werner phoned about the plans. He is away this week. While we had him on the phone, I asked him if we could improve the access and move some of the stones from the steps. He has no problem with that. We all laughed because he said we could move a few of the ‘pebbles’. Mike and I wasted no time and in the cool of the day, we went down to the site to throw some rocks. There is a big hole one side of the build and that’s where most of the rocks from the middle of the stairway are going. I started from the top, while Mike started half way down. My view…

Lots of rocks to go…

A beautiful evening…

While we were busy, David arrived home and came to help. We set up a daisy chain with me on the steps. Mike stood on the build and David was also up there but a few metres behind Mike close to the void where the rocks are going. I threw a rock to Mike – he threw it to David and David tossed it in the hole. And so we went. Throwing rocks. We must have thrown about 100 that way. We rotated places. The easiest spot was throwing it into the hole. Tomorrow we will do some more and I’ll take a photo of the hole. I forgot to do that this evening. Even though I was wearing gloves, I can feel my hands are slightly tender from catching rocks.  We made really good progress, even though we only spent about an hour on this manual labour. It was the right time of the day to go as well.

Who knows, maybe we will surprise Werner!

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

A good reminder.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
