Third Last Day at Sea

Friday 27th October 2017

Today we have had our third last day at sea. Eating reading and exercising were the three main activities.

We had breakfast and then went to the gym mid-morning. It was crazy busy. I think everyone is gearing up for getting home and decided that they needed to do something to offset all the eating. I got 20 minutes on the treadmill and 20 minutes on a bike. This afternoon, I went back and it was much quieter, so I did another 2.5km. After both workouts, I went for a swim in the deck pool which was wonderfully refreshing.

The weather is cooler than it was a few days ago. Today it was about 26C with not too much wind. The sea temperature they said was 27C. We easily get washing dry in the morning when the sun is on our balcony. I did quite a lot of washing this afternoon and it’s flapping in a humid breeze. It will dry quickly tomorrow. At midnight tonight we turn our clocks back one hour. Currently, we are two hours ahead of South Africa, so I guess over the next couple of days we will be moving back to South African time.

This evening we had a lovely meal with our dining companions Paul and Wendy.  Paul is very quiet and Wendy the opposite. Bubbly and outgoing. Mike spent some time drawing Paul out and we had a fine time together. The menu was South African and included frikkadels, lamb stew, spiced (lightly) salmon and melktart!

After dinner, we watched part of Sabrina (but the original one) and it was fabulous. We’ll watch the rest tomorrow. Mike bought a whole lot of movies on a flash drive which has been great.

We are gearing up for returning home and to reality, but are being sure to enjoy the last few days at sea. Very soon, we will be rounding Madagascar. We don’t stop there.

#459 of my 1000 thanks –  I finished reading the 853 pages of Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karanin

Psalm 100:3

Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
