These Two Used To Be At Each Other’s Throats…

9-23am

I’m about to leave for my ladies morning, but I thought I’d quickly post a sequence of photos of two residents who used to be at each others throats. Please enter TRUFFLES, resident cat at our home and GIZMO, resident cat of home across the road. GIZMO is big and heavy and male. TRUFFLES is small and light and female. They have had a few fights, ranging from unfriendly hissing to hair-raising chases to outright wailing. But somehow, as the months have passed they have become more tolerant of each other. Yesterday afternoon, the back door was open and Truffles was sitting on the kitchen floor. Gizmo, very quietly walked in, making a B-Line for the few leftovers in Truffles dish…Gizmo comes in and makes a b-line for the foodBut then he cast a cursory glance at Truffles who wasn’t looking so happy, so he backed off…

Then not so sure Truffles wont hit him

He figured he would pretend he was only there to rub his neck against the table…notice Truffles paw in the air!

Truffles paw in the airHis face also needed a rub…that’s why he was in the kitchen… it’s wasn’t the food! Hey Truffs, what do you think?

He retreats behind the tableBut then, before anyone could react, he was in for the food…

Then comes outAnd he gobbled it all up…

And gobbles it all upTruffles not so sure…tolerant and clearly not hungry! Gizmo ate the bits and then left!

I love cats! I can imagine that given another few months, they may even be grooming each other. If so, I will be the first to display the photo!

When we took Truffles in, she was the object of our mercy. We hadn’t planned it. She needed a home and we were there to adopt her.

You & I are an Object of Mercy as well! Only, it wasn’t a sudden decision for God to love you. He planned it all along. He prepared you in advance to receive His love and mercy. One commentator says God “chose and eternally arranged” your salvation. That’s pretty fantastic! It makes me feel secure in God’s love and blessing. The verse that sparked all these warm fuzzy feelings of gratitude in my heart is Romans 9:23 “What if He did this to make the riches of His glory known to the objects of His mercy, whom He prepared in advance for His glory?” This verse is laden with undercurrents of God’s love and compassion towards you.

Go with God  and whatever you do, do it all for His glory!

He will bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
