The Things We Take For Granted

For so many years we took water for granted.  In Cape Town, that’s no longer the case. Every drop counts. Today we washed the linen  What a treat it is for me to write this blog from my bed, with fresh linen. The first sleep on clean linen is always the best!

As I hung it on the line, I was thankful for something else we take for granted.

#663 of my 1000 thanks is for the wind and the sunshine that effortlessly and with no help from me, dried my washing. I didn’t have to pay for it to blow or turn the sun on for it to shine. It’s God’s gift to us and it did a quick and smart job in drying my linen today.

Last night I slept badly and then overslept, waking up wayyy after 7am. I missed my 8am gym departure time and got straight on with work.  Between work I did the washing and in the afternoon, I went to Noordhoek Common with Riana. It’s beautiful there…

Wide open spaces…a little bit of Noordhoek paradise…

This friendly horse came to see us, but you can see him just keeping a wary eye on Meggie the dog who was just in front of us.

When we were young and we were ‘in a tree’ we would have to climb up it. There’s a tree you can be in at Noordhoek Common, that needs no climbing…Riana in a tree…

It’s like something out of an Enid Blyton book.

To those of you who have asked after Stacey, thank you. She is well. Very heavily pregnant and just waiting for her little girl to arrive. It is very exciting. It won’t be long now.  What a blessing.

Isaiah 66:13

As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx

Gym:

No gym! 🙂 I’ve done 4.5 hours this week and will do an hour tomorrow and a couple of hours on Saturday, so I rested today.
