Spring Regatta

Friday – Heritage Day

Today was the day…

I took most of the day off. What a treat and it’s a long weekend!  The day dawned with a majestic Heritage Day sunrise…

You can see there was very little wind and this would make for wonderful swimming conditions. I swam to the barrel and then decided to make a bee-line for the lighthouse. At times I felt I was swimming in the middle of the bay. It was deep and dark. I reminded myself that Orca whales had been seen in the bay recently – they are the wonders of the deep that keep the great white sharks out. Orcas won’t eat people. Great whites will.  The 1 in my satellite pic was where it felt very deep.

I had to do quite a lot of swimming to get to 2km and in the end it was 50 minutes of hard work that got me there.

Then we came home, got showered and changed and walked to Fish Hoek for breakfast.

Home in time to watch the yachts in the Spring Regatta. They had to go round a buoy and we saw some action as two yachts approached it. The one in front didn’t get the turn right, so the vessel behind snuck around the buoy and took the lead! This is taken through the telescope…

The other thing that happened today is Christmas got booked! I’m so excited about this. We have a part of 3 arriving 23rd December and leaving 28th….a daughter and her parents. This will work well.

Now it’s time for dinner!

1 Peter 3:12

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayer.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
