Solar Panel Arrival Day

Monday

Today, mid morning a delivery truck arrived with a very jovial driver. On board were 9 solar panels and all the stuff that goes with them.

They are now in the piano room…this is the underside, the side usually unseen…

Tomorrow, David and Jack will help Mike put them up on the roof. Mike says they fit together like lego. We’ll see how far they have got tomorrow.

Today has been a cool day…it looked like rain, but very little, if any, fell. I had a satisfying work day.

The other day I looked out my bedroom window and said, ‘what is that?’ On closer inspection…

…a snail had got into the bird feeder and was crawling across the seed ball. It eventually found its way out.

Another photo I snapped the other day was this  one….sermon series at St Peter’s church Fish Hoek…

That’s a challenging series!

Nugget from my journey: A couple of memories from when Stacey and David were young. The one that comes to mind was when David was in about Grade 3 and his lunchbox was stolen on the first day of the term! You always pack special lunches for the first day. When it’s a new year, the lunchbox is brand new. His got nicked. That evening we prayed for the person who took it and we also prayed that it would be found. I prayed that David would just look up and there it would be. The next day when he came home, there was no news. It had not been found. How disappointing.  But a day or two after that, he was standing in line outside his classroom and he looked up and there it was on top of a filing cabinet. He was ecstatic. Little faith-builders – God answers prayer.

With Stacey, it was her Middle School dance. About half an hour before she was due to leave for it, her contact lens popped off her finger and floated to the floor. The next thing we were all on our hands and knees looking for it. I was horrified, because these contact lenses were the trial pair and the optometrist had just called to say the proper set were ready. If I had only gone down to the Mall to pick them up, but it was Saturday and I didn’t get there in time. Now Stacey had one in one eye and one that was lost. It was dreadful! Granny had been in and had a look as well. She had picked up the bathroom mat and given it a shake but nothing had been seen. I stood in the bathroom and prayed. My heart was sore and I was contrite, because I could have had a back up set. Literally, just about as we said Amen, I looked down and there was the shining lens perched on the edge of the carpet tassel. As Granny had shaken it, it must have hooked onto the tassel and was just waiting to be retrieved. We were so grateful!

Isaiah 57:15

I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

God revives the heart and spirit.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
