So It Wasn’t Such A Jolly Outing…

2-47pm

Today, SURPRISE! Jason Pretorius joined me in the Rise and Shine studio, which was fabulous! I did show prep as usual after the show and then headed off to Cape Town to see Granny. I decided before it got too cold, I’d take her out for lunch. Fish & Chips at Hout Bay sounded like a grand plan.

So I picked her up and off we went…to Hout Bay Harbour….

Hout Bay Harbour….where I ordered fish and chips for one from Mariner’s Wharf…

Mariners WharfI had had this for breakfast, Breakfast….so I didn’t need too much fish and I certainly didn’t want chips. I cut Granny’s fish up and had a a bit myself…she had all her fish and some of the chips…

Granny having fish and chipsThe view was spectacular…this is from Granny’s side…

View from Granny's window…and this was the view from my side…

View from my windowAfter an enjoyable time, we headed back to town and that was when things started going a bit downhill. Granny had a full tummy…. and the winding road from Hout Bay to Camps Bay began to take its toll! Driving up Camps Bay Drive, she suddenly looked very very pale.. and then clammy and then sweaty…and she started to make suspicious burping sounds, like she was very nauseous! Ohhhhh dear!! I realised she was getting a little car sick! I pulled off the road and opened the windows to give her air. She coughed and burped some more and then settled. I very slowly and gingerly drove her back to the LCH! So it wasn’t such a jolly outing. She was very happy to get back and when I asked her if she wanted to go and lie down, she didn’t hesitate in saying ‘yes’! (Note to self:) “Soooo, next time, maybe not Hout Bay, Helgs.” Lesson learned!

Now that I have had time to process some of what I heard at the Colour Conference this last weekend, I am more determined than ever to march fervently through my life, giving it all I’ve got. So many of  the women who came to the CCFm booth said they had heard something on the radio that stirred them, helped them, encouraged them, comforted them, spurred them on. This is the greatest opportunity I may ever have to impact the lives of 1000s of people every weekday…EVERY weekday. It is an astounding opportunity.  I must prepare well, I must present the best show I can possibly present, every day.

Ephesians 5:16 Making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.

Off to do show prep!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
