So How Is David?

Tuesday

Dear Elsie

Today was the day that began with drizzle and ended with sunshine. It turned out to be a beautiful day. I worked for 7 hours of the day, but also got some reading done and went for a fine afternoon walk. This is the view from the end of the road…

I walked back and then down Highway, up Hillside and back along Daisy Way. I stopped on the lane to admire the view. I should have been in that sea today!

I pondered whether I can get swim fit enough to swim to Clovelly and back again one day. I need to swim!

David and Mike have been watching Poirot. The catchy signature tune made David get his guitar to pick it out…

And he did. Perfectly. What made him happy was he got the key right too.

So how is David? It’s a frequently asked question. He is diligently taking CoQ10 and Vitamin B. The CoQ10 he has morning and evening. He started on Friday and he says he can feel a difference. He is feeling better but his legs still get really tired, so he’ll do a loop around our apartment and walk about 100m and then have to sit down. Then he sleeps. It’s just so weird. Even he feels it’s surreal. He looks at himself in the mirror and feels he’s seeing someone he is so familiar with and yet so unfamiliar with. He looks normal but his body just isn’t coming to the party. He had a friend visit yesterday who had a similar issue in 2021 and he said it took 4 and a half months to return to normal. David is philosophical about the wait. He’s working half time, so still earning and managing. If China is to happen, it will happen in time. Mentally, he is doing fine. He is as entertaining as ever. He just has a slump every now and again. When I hear him saying things like, “I am grateful,” I know he’ll be okay. If he can be grateful when he’s got debilitating fatigue, he knows Who is carrying him.

Psalm 77:14
You are the God who performs miracles; You display Your power among the peoples.

We wait, patiently.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
