Severe Cape Town Weather Alert

So winter has arrived in Cape Town with the onset of some heavy rain and with it the expected possibility of mudslides on some of the fire-damaged mountainsides.

On Facebook Paul Botha, posted this:

Needless to say, Chapman’s Peak Drive is closed.

My AIX app on my cell phone indicates a bit of a break in the weather this afternoon before another bout of heavy rain this evening and into tomorrow.

Aix weather for Fish Hoekk 2nd June 2015So it’s a few days to batten down the hatches, erect an indoor washing line or dust off the tumble drier, dress warmly and stay inside if you can.

Soup, stew, bubbling casseroles definitely need to be the order of the day. I’m ditching too much alluring coffee for hot water and lemon which I can have as much of as often as I want!

Hot water with lemonIf I need a change, there’s nothing like a cup of Chai, but be warned, don’t order this from a coffee shop – they usually use a sweetened, chemical-filled sachet. Get the rooibos variety…

Chai teaIt’s a great alternative and you can have it without milk, spiced to warm you up!

So for me, it’s back to work, sitting at my desk, watching the rain falling outside my window and grateful to be inside and dry.

Job 37:6

“For to the snow He says, ‘Fall on the earth,’ And to the downpour and the rain, ‘Be strong.’

And down it comes.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
