Restful Sunday

Today has been a very restful day. We went to church early – and the rest of the day was made up of watching Roger Federer squeeze out his 20th grand slam title against Marin Cilic. It was a good match. Riana came for lunch (bangers and mash). Mike went to hit golf balls, while we chatted. After she left, I had a snooze and then at 6pm, I went to gym. I cycled 25km and swam 22 lengths.

What was devastating about today is that there was another attack on one of our beautiful mountain walks. Julian and I have walked the Kalk Bay mountains and the other day he mentioned we had not done one for ages. Today’s attack unfortunately was fatal. Now we can’t risk it.  Today’s sermon was on how we respond to crime in this country. The bottom line is that we have to trust God. Nothing escapes His notice and His eye is on us.

#551 of my 1000 thanks is for the tennis matches we have enjoyed watching over the last two days. The Australian Open women’s final between Caroline Wozniaki and Simona Halep and the men’s final today between Roger Federer and Marin Cilic. Both so entertaining.  Roger is the first male tennis player to win 20 grand slams. Caroline won her first.

Psalm 86;11

Teach me Your way O Lord, that I may walk in Your truth.

Just a mention today that it’s 14 years since my Mom went to be with Jesus. One day we will meet again.

Praise the Lord.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx
