Rainy Saturday

It was wonderful to have the rain pelting down today. The tanks are overflowing and the dams are filling it up. It’s going to be fun to find out on Monday what the dam levels are again. We are so so grateful. The Cape Town drought is breaking.

In weather like this, Truffles has the right idea…

Some time ago we put a box in our bedroom for her. She usually takes to a place and then tires of it and moves onto somewhere else, but the box seems to have been a place of safety and warmth and she tucks herself in it almost every day. Right now there is crazy rugby on. SA playing England at wet, muddy, slushy Newlands right here in Cape Town. The TV visuals make it look like England with the stadium filled with well covered fans. The field is slippery and it makes play difficult. Mike, Julian and David are all watching. Truffles has enthusiastically joined them as there is biltong in the offering.

We met at the Stag for breakfast and then I set off for the gym. I ran a slow 5km, cycled 20km and then swam 30 lengths. I really enjoyed it. In fact, I went planning on running 5k, cycling 15 and swimming 20. The extra 5km bike ride and 10 lengths in the pool was because I felt so able to!

There is a lot to be thankful for as we walk through life.

#700 of my 1000 thanks is that Julian got Mike’s car serviced. Whenever Julian comes down he uses Mike’s car. Not only did he get it serviced, they also fixed a slow leak in the front left tyre and beat the hub-cab back into shape. (Long story – don’t ask)! #Grateful! One less thing for us to do.

Tonight, we leave Julian and David watching the footie while we go to Riana’s for dinner.

Proverbs 1:7

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx
