I Once Had An Unexpected Dream…

8-04am

Yesterday morning, as I thought about Granny’s frail condition, my mind wandered to what could be happening behind the heavenly divide. I imagined Granny’s late husband and her beautiful sister who died 2 years ago at aged 88, getting excited, perhaps talking together and saying, “Eve will soon be here!” We don’t know how it all works, but we do know that heaven is a real place, beautiful and peaceful. I once had an unexpected dream about heaven.

I don’t remember too many of the dreams I have, but a few years ago, I had an amazing travel experience while fast asleep. I could FLY! Effortlessly, I launched myself, from my bedroom balcony and soared above the trees. Suddenly, surpassing time and space, I found myself arriving a place very, very far away. It looked like a little town, (Norway comes to mind!) – it wasn’t cold or snowy and it was very ordinary and earth-like, but I knew it was heaven. As I approached (from the air!), I noticed a tall, slim lady with shoulder length mousy brown hair walking very determinedly along the side walk. She was clearly on her way somewhere and in a rush to get there. Then I noticed her destination was the side room of what looked like the town hall. Inside were many people all preparing for the arrival of someone ‘from earth.’  There was a red carpet being unrolled, balloons being inflated & other party preparations underway. I think my Mom was there, as well. My presence went unnoticed and once I had seen all the activity, I turned to leave. That was when it became a bit blurry, because I didn’t know which direction to take and had to ask someone! Off I went, and in my state of sleep, I somehow knew my dream was ending and because I was so enjoying flying, I didn’t want it to.  We are trapped in an earthly body, with human emotions, weakening brains and aging bones, but it’s not about  here and now. There is much more to come!

heaven-on-earthAnd in our brief time on earth, we regularly enjoy God’s amazing creation. This was yesterday’s ‘sunrise’ from the CCFm Balcony, Main Rd. Muizenberg…

Sunrise 30th SeptAnd this was sunset from my bedroom balcony last night…

Sunset 30th Sept One frequently asked question is, “Where was God when such-and-such happened?” You may wonder where God is in times of distress. Sometimes, God does seem so far away. You may be going through what seems like a massive, fierce, overwhelming trial. You feel at your weakest and you need the Lord, His presence & His comfort like never before. Overwhelming emotional or physical pain can dull the senses to the presence of God, but that does not mean He is not there. Neither does it mean that He has overlooked you. No! Not at all.

Isaiah 63:9 “In ALL their distress, He too was distressed and the angel of His presence saved them. In His love and mercy, He redeemed them; He lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.”

You may not be able to feel it, but in your distress God is as close to you as He has ever been. The Angel of His presence is Jesus, sent to save, redeem, lift and carry you! In ALL your distress, God is distressed. Remember that today!

God bless you abundantly.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
