Plucking Up The Courage To Tell Granny…

2-49pm

Yep! That’s what I’m doing this afternoon! I’m plucking up the courage to tell Granny that she is going to Nerina Gardens next week. It is only for 4 nights, but I still feel a bit like I’m ‘sending her away.’ I am sure she won’t mind and I am equally sure she will be well looked after. I’ll have to choose my timing.

Work went well today. I stayed until after 12 and then stopped by the grocery store to buy some birthday presents! Tomorrow, at Ladies Bible Study we celebrate two birthdays and next week another two. 🙂

Not long after I got home, Stacey came over for tea. Oh my! A lady of leisure she is now as they are just days away from leaving Cape Town – another week and they’ll be on their way… first to Adrian’s parents and then off to Singapore! So exciting!

The big news of the Olympic day for South Africa was the incredible achievement of South Africa’s Lightweight Men’s Four rowing team! They won GOLD!! They beat the host nation, England, as well as the Beijing gold champions, Denmark. Add to that world champions Australia were in 4th place! South Africa rained on their parade! Well done Sizwe Ndlovu,  James Thompson, Matthew Brittain and John Smith …

Here is the ecstatic team belting out the SA national anthem…

…and here’s the finish line…

Apparently, they were rowing at 20km/hour at one stage. We were in Lane 5.  One of the blunders of the race was the commentator who said “but it’s Australia in lane 5 that are going to take it….and the winner is ….SOUTH AFRICA!!!” Sam Ramsamy must thrilled. I thought he was was going to burst with joy when Chad Le Clos won the other night.

It has been nothing less than a spectacular day…view from work…

View from home…

Blessed!

For fun…

Le Clos tonight is swimming in the 100m Butterfly, just before 10pm!

Psalm 103:11 says For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him.

Keep your eyes on Him…

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
