Overwhelmed By Work

Over the weekend, I started to receive A LOT of email. It poured into my work email inbox and just didn’t stop coming. Yesterday afternoon I got stuck in but to my dismay the system on which I work was so slow, it was virtually impossible to get anything done. I managed to work my way through 4 emails in an hour! So frustrating.

This morning, I woke up early and at 5am I turned on my computer and again from 5 until 7-30am, it was ridiculously slow. Suddenly at 7-30am, something happened and it was back to its normal speed – what a relief. I went to gym at 8-30 and by the time I got home, my email count had doubled. Amidst the mass of unread mails were a few from my colleague in Abu Dhabi to say that the major organisation at which we place teachers had announced the dates for the next round of interviews and they are in Johannesburg on Monday next week! So I hurriedly booked my flight to Johannesburg and here comes #43 of my 1000 thanks. Julian is in Cape Town this weekend and flies out on Sunday. Not only did I get on his flight, I got the seat next to him! 😀 I was a bit concerned about the dates for these interviews because they often interview on a Sunday and I didn’t want to be in Joburg when Julian was in Cape Town.

Johannesburg interviews are on Monday. Home Monday night. On Wednesday there are the Cape Town interviews and then on Wednesday evening I’m off to Durban for the Durban interviews on Thursday. That’s God willing. There may be some changes to Cape Town and Durban which could prove messy as I booked my flights already!

I’ve probably worked 11 hours today which is #44 of my 1000 thanks – that I have work to do.

I think that one of the things that I want to work on is trying to stress less when these kind of days come. Instead of feeling overwhelmed,  I want to overflow with thankfulness in a more positive way instead of having my head spin, my back ache and my eyes throb! How does one do that?

Cling! Pause! Praise!

That’s a good thing to remember.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
