Out of Sorts

It’s one of those days that I felt out of sorts.  Others may say their planets are out of line!  I woke a couple of times in the night and when I woke up to Mike’s alarm at 6-30am, there was a whatsapp to say that there had been an intruder up the street and a car stolen from a garage a few streets away. The car was later found in Khayelitsha.

I stayed in bed to work, even though the sun was shining. I may stay in bed to work when it’s raining, but today was lovely. It was cold though. While I was still in bed, the alarm company called to say the alarm had gone off at Echo. I really need to change the number so it goes through to David. Mike went down there to double-check everything was okay. David had gone to work.  I stayed in bed! I worked through until about 11am, then had breakfast and watched some of the tennis.

I was also out of sorts,  because Kevin Anderson lost his French Open Quarter final after leading two sets to love. Poor guy. He’s not having a great evening in Paris tonight. So close. I was disappointed, but no doubt he will bounce back.

Then we found what could be perceived as a “marker” outside our house. So this evening we took a walk to see if there were any signs of nefarious activity behind our house. There was nothing to be found. Look how green the neighbourhood grass is…with all the rain we have had it’s looking lush…

Those are the things that put me out of sorts. It was helpful that I got back into my routine and by this evening, things are feeling better. Stacey sent me the cutest video of Elsie who is two weeks old today. She’s certainly lost the new-born look. Each day she is maturing just a little bit more. So cute. I look forward to seeing her again soon. 🙂

# 681 of my 1000 thanks is that I got to book a gardener (James) for this Friday. He will come and tame our seriously overgrown garden.

Psalm 111:10

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey His commandments will grow in wisdom.

We are so often consumed by fear, but fear (respect and reverence) of the Lord is the right foundation.

That’s the way to go.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
