Old Habits – New Rules

Saturday

Today was the day…

We met Julian for breakfast at Peak Cafe in Fish Hoek. It’s something we have done dozens of times., but no longer can they put all the tables out as this picture shows.

Now they need to have them spread out. Our temperature, name and number taken on entry. A foot pedal driven hand sanitizer in use. Social distancing, mask wearing and lots of disinfecting within. This is the new normal for this strange Corona season. If they are to survive, this is what has to happen. It was good to get out and they did a great smoothie.

Afterwards, we went to Echo and Mike and I laid out a few of our floor tiles how we want them.

There had been much debate about our flooring. We nearly went with laminate but there is an issue having it in the kitchen and around the doors, so in the end we picked up this wood-grain rectified porcelain tile which we are so happy with. This is in close up…

On the way home, we stopped at the house that had its roof blown off. There was more storm damage affecting the structure…

After getting home, I had a lovely chat with Stacey and then did some housework.  We saw Julian and David and had dinner with them.

So all in all a good day.

I saw this photo on Facebook. My teachers at my primary school which was Frank Johnson in Harare.  I recognise a number of them – especially the feared Mrs Gilchrist with the sunglasses on!

Hebrews 12:1

Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

One day at a time.

The best is yet to come.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
