Moment of Truth

That was what we found out today. We had a call to say the building inspector would stop by and let us know what all the regulations are regarding our new building project. There’s good news and there’s bad news. I guess the bad news is not entirely unexpected. We have always known that this will not be a simple thing to do. The bad news is that in order to build the size and design that Mike has put together is going to require a number of departures and if we have just one departure, we need to get the consent and permission of  SIX neighbours.

That’s the bad news. The good news is, with their permission, we can go ahead and build what we want to build. Builder and Inspector…

Mike and the builder discussing options…

We’ll see what happens. I once watched a Grand Design where the owner of the new build had to persuade 17 sets of neighbours that he needed to take down all their walls until the build was done. At least we don’t have to do that. These things can be done. If we move ahead and get it done, we could be living in it in a few years time. If we do nothing, we won’t. It’s as simple as that!

Proverbs 2:6

For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Watch this space.

Today I had quite a lot of work to do and have spent several hours trying to catch up this afternoon.  It has been cool and cloudy today. Rain is forecast for the weekend. Tomorrow, James the Gardener is coming to try to tame our overgrown garden. That will make a difference.

#684 of my 1000 thanks is that I don’t need to cook tonight!

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
