It’s Not Difficult To Write About Today

(I’ll continue yesterday’s story tomorrow!)

The date today – 20th June is pretty much etched in my mind!

It is the day, TEN years ago today that my beautiful daughter walked down a very short aisle to marry an amazing talented man.  Here she is at 21, all veiled up and ready.

It was a glorious winter’s day, pretty much like today is in Cape Town. The setting was fabulous…Little Stream in Constantia.

A micro-wedding with 20 of us  – just perfect for the personalities of both Adrian and Stacey.

Such a joyful day!

Fast forward ten years and they have been blessed. They worked, then spent a year travelling round SE Asia. Stacey this photo is for you….remember the tuk-tuks!

Tuk Tuks which Stacey says are everywhere and riding in them is quite an experience…hold on tight!

They moved to Swellendam, where they have been blessed.

And the Lord has grown them by two to three with this little bundle….

So much bigger now. Her first birthday.

Yip a profitable ten years.

Tears sprang to my eyes today as I spoke to Stacey and we both expressed such gratitude that our marriages have turned out as they have because we know, trust and follow the Lord.

And how can that not be a nugget from my journey? The prayers that I prayed before Stacey was born for her and her future husband. The Lord knew then how they would meet and all that would unfold.  I stand now looking back at God’s faithfulness in blessing Mike and I with Stacey and blessing Stacey with Elsie. God is faithful. The prayers I’ve prayed for Elsie’s children, my great-grandchildren – the answers to those prayers are in progress! As the Lord sees who Elsie will marry, He sees her children and knows their arrival date.

2 Samuel 22:3 cannot be more true for us.

My God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. He is my refuge, my Saviour, the one who saves me from violence.

Amen!

Today has been a good work day. I’ve done no exercise! Hmm. I’m not wildly happy about that. We did go to Echo to see how the kerb stones are going to be changed so we can drive up them. And I worked, but not too much. I’ve done 4 and a half hours, mainly this morning.

It’s almost weekend.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

Gym:

I’ve done 2321 steps – challenge for between now and bedtime is to rack that up to 10000.
