I Have a Bullet!

Wednesday

I don’t think I’ve ever even touched a live bullet before. Today we were out walking, Mike and I, when, Mike suddenly stopped and said “Oh wow, look at this.” He picked up a live 9mm bullet. We were on Highway Rd in Fish Hoek.

I put it in my back pocket and bought it home with me. How it came to be on Highway Rd we’ll never know, but I think it’s a good thing to find a live bullet than the cartridge of a used one.

It’s really a none-event story, but there you have it!

Today saw the start of a temporary new work routine. The Middle East director for whom I work and who lives in Dubai, has gone on holiday. I would wake up at 6am and check my email to see he would already be emailing me. It would be 8am in the UAE. For the next two weeks, the main company director is standing in for him and she is in the UK, one hour behind us. When I wake up at 6am, she’s not at work yet, so emails only really start coming in mid morning my time. There’s always work to be done for which I am very grateful.

The late morning start enabled me to have tea with my friends at 10-30am. When I got home at noon, there was a bunch of emails. Just after 4pm,  Mike and I set off to walk to  Echo. From there, David gave us a lift to Valyland where we bought some supplies before walking home. We arrived home in time to see a big orange ball slip below the horizon.

Mike made spaghetti bolognaise for dinner. His usual delicious recipe went down well.

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

It has been a peaceful day.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.
