Granny Has Moved!

12-16pm

I knew that things would be better today, and they are! If you are feeling blue, just wait 24 hours!

Yesterday afternoon I packed for Granny and put all the stuff in my car. Then this morning, right after the show, I went to Ladies Christian Home and got Granny’s Bedside tableroom ready for her. On the way, I bought some flowers…which I put on her bedside table with the picture of her parents and her late husband (Granpa!)

Mike, meantime, was at home, waiting for Granny to finish breakfast. This took longer than expected, but eventually she was done. He loaded her up and drove through to town.

This is the view from Granny’s window…

Grannys viewHer bed has new linen and looks very comfie…

Grannys BedThis morning when I got to work, I made coffee, but only discovered the milk was sour after I got into the studio. By the time 10am came I was in great need of a dose of caffeine. While waiting for Mike to arrive, I popped over the road to this hit cafe…

Sweet Plum CafeIt’s called the Sweet Plum Cafe. I bought a mega cappuccino and sat outside waiting for Mike to drive up the road with Granny. He soon appeared. I hadn’t yet finished my cappuccino, so I took the cup with me and returned it later! 🙂

Granny was soon settling in. Mike & I have adjusted. The worst is over. She will be comfortable and happy. I will visit Monday and Wednesday. Mike will visit Tuesday and Friday. Initially, anyway.  The staff at LCH have been fabulous, so accommodating and we have certainly appreciate them so much. They are so caring and I have every confidence that Granny is going to be better cared for than we could do. Mike & I are beginning to smell the scent of freedom! Our lives are about to change!

I am now home and ready to go and have my hair cut.

Bible verse from this morning: Psalm 41:1

Blessed are those who have regard for the weak;   the Lord delivers them in times of trouble.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
