Goggling

Sunday

Today was the day…

Mike and I went goggling. We got quite a lot of exercise. We went down to Fish Hoek beach early and had a jog on the beach. Mike had a swim. Then we came home in time for Peter and Riana to stop by for breakfast. I walked down to the shop at lunchtime to pick up salad ingredients.

We had a relaxing lunch and then later in the afternoon, we drove to Simon’s Town for a walk we haven’t been on before…

This is just below Simon’s Town golf course, a place Mike and I spent many  happy hours.

Mike stopped playing golf a couple of years ago. The end to his game coincided with the the busy period leading up to getting plans in for the house and then the build became the all consuming past time. He doesn’t seem to miss it. The walk links this beach to Boulders. It goes along a walk way…

This is indeed penguin territory…

From the paid entrance to Boulder’s Beach we walked along the boardwalk back to the entrance to the Penguins and then onto a little beach just off the beaten track. We had an amazing swim. We took our swimming goggles and enjoyed goggling (as opposed to snorkeling). I just loved floating on my tummy and watching the activities below the water. There were so many different kinds of fish. We need to get proper goggles to fully appreciate it.

When we moved out of our old house, I had one set of goggles and snorkel but I’m not sure if it got given away or is in storage.  I don’t really care for the idea of using a snorkel but goggling I’ve tried and it’s fine.

By the time we got home, we felt we had eked the marrow out of this day. Another beautiful day in Cape Town.

1 John 4:8

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
