Fun on the Roof

Tuesday

Today is the day…I hung out on the roof for a short time.  As we close in on getting our massive solar system up and running, Mike and Courage spent a large chunk of the day on the roof wiring up the solar panels.

I climbed up the scaffolding to have a look – this is the view from the scaffolding…

I sat on the parapet and took a couple of photos. This is Mike doing some of the connecting…

The view is pretty spectacular…

Once all the connections had been done, they were able to test how much electricity was  being generated.

Each solar array (there are three of them) provides 4 units of electricity each hour for about 5 hours of the day. That makes 60 units of electricity available each sunny. Mike still has to set each invertor up to take the load and then we can start using it. That may happen tomorrow.

Quite early this morning, Mike and I went to the beach. The wind had dropped overnight and we joined a whole lot of the locals enjoying a swim. The water was amazing. We then walked to Pick n Pay and bought fresh rolls. We got the timing right this morning. On the way back along the cat walk, with the tide high, I couldn’t resist having another swim in the rock pool. It’s so fun in that one. I’ll be doing that again for sure.  It’s been a gorgeous day and one to throw the doors wide open and enjoy the outside coming in. I also did the fruit for another Christmas cake.

So it’s been a productive day. I worked this morning and am about to take Courage and Ruth home. Tomorrow evening the family arrive.

We are hearing of more positive cases of Covid in our city.  If it continues as it is, we’ll cross the million case mark in a couple of weeks. What strange times we are living in.

We trust the Lord.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,
