Friday 1st December 2017

Wow, December has arrived. A beautiful sunny day in Cape Town. The only issue is we are still leaking water somewhere. The plumbers and leak detectors have come and gone (a couple of times) and we are still left with the problem. We are now waiting for the municipal water people to come and have a look and see if it is our water meter. Mike does not appreciate being left with this problem. Pay the big plumbing bill and still no solution.

Anyway, it is what it is. The one thing they did fix this afternoon is the water pressure in the upstairs shower. That disappeared when they were last here.

#494 of my 1000 thanks is that we have a second shower that I was able to use after gym.

Talking of gym, I laboured through my hour this morning with quads that moaned with every step. Today they do feel better though. I’m through the worst I think. I’m beginning to feel fitter.

Then I went and picked up Stacey’s birthday presents. Tomorrow we head off to Swellendam for two nights to celebrate her 30th birthday.  I cannot believe I have a daughter who is 30. I remember turning 30 so very well. I waited so long to turn 30. When I married Mike at aged 21 and he was already 35, I felt that I would finally be mature when I turned 30. I looked forward to it with great enthusiasm.

So excited for Stacey. She’s 16 weeks pregnant today. Baby is the size of a pear! I’m looking forward to seeing her tomorrow. Truffles is going to a cattery for two nights! It’s to a Kitty Condo for her. She’s going to be furious with me! Here she is last night accepting love from David…

And later, she crawled into a shopping bag and went fast asleep. She stayed here for best of 7 hours!

Truffles Funny Cat!

Friday 1st December 2017 – the start of the Christmas season! I am getting towards the end of the Bible.

1 John 2: 1

My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
