Fab Friday

Today has been a fun quite busy day. We woke early, had coffee and Bible reading and at 7am, I started working. Just after 8am, I went to gym where I did 30 minutes on the treadmill and managed 4.06km. That got my heart bleating! I then went to the free zone and did a whole bunch of exercises before cycling for ten minutes.

I came home, had a shower, washed my gym clothes (by hand), had breakfast and then went back to work until it was Bible study time with my wonderful friends. It’s always so good.

I rushed home around 2pm, had a Skype call at 2-15pm and then Clifton arrived an hour later. Clifton used to work at CCFm. We go back more than 20 years. It was so great to see him! I’ll be praying for Clifton.

After he left, I had an hour or two of relaxation before assembling dinner.

Right now, Mike is watching a movie (there’s a lot of action) and I am enjoying a quiet Friday evening.

#473 of my 1000 thanks is for routine and structure and reason to get out of bed in the morning. 🙂

I think one of keys to happiness is having useful occupation.  It gives you a sense of self-worth and usefulness.

Here are some other keys to happiness I found people had searched for on the internet…

Low expectations can result in not being disappointed, not necessarily happiness. Not caring doesn’t lead to happiness. A bad memory is going to make me unhappy! Gratitude makes you appreciate life and that is definitely a key to happiness.

I think pets can be a great key to happiness. Anything that makes you laugh and enjoy life leads in the direction of being happy. Check this cat video out…

Generosity is a key to happiness.

I think finding happiness doesn’t come naturally. I think you have to be intentional about making happiness happen. And I think it all starts in your mind. Thoughts are so powerful. When they are negative they can really created serious unhappiness. Forcing yourself to think positive can turn that around.

When I look at the news and all the messy, ugly things that are around, the single thing in which I find peace is the fact that God knows and He ultimately is in charge.

Psalm 146:2

I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

When God has His rightful place in my life, that’s the foundation of happiness and contentment for me.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
