Dust

These days have been marked by an enormous amount of white dust which is settling in our garden from the building site behind our house. With summer here, the weather dry and the south-easter fresh, clouds of grey sandy dust blow our way. It’s actually getting pretty bad and our patio plants are not happy:

I sent this picture to the contractor but have not yet had a response, although I think they may have tried to call this morning while I was at gym.

Something has to be done at that building site. They need sprinklers and netting put up. A number of the residents on my street are really mad about it. To make matters worse, some have been coughing (including Mike). He has gone and bought himself a serious protective mask and wears it when he is working in the back garden.

One of the issues is that the builder’s holidays are coming up and there won’t be anyone onsite. On really windy days, the dust levels are horrible. We are hoping they will do something about it before then.

Meantime, I got home late last night and tonight I am feeling the effects of long hours of work over a prolonged period of time. I’m wading through my email and then am going to sleep! 🙂

#122 of my 1000 thanks is that I got home safely and it was absolutely wonderful to climb into bed last night. 🙂

I’ve been reading 1 John and got to the final chapter.

1 John 5:10a, 11

“Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart….and this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.”

Having a testimony in my heart is something which is hard to explain, but it’s there. It is the God shaped hole that has been filled by belief in Jesus and the eternal life I have in Him.

That’s heart-warming and no amount of dust can change it!

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
