Dredging the Canal

Sunday

There’s a big ditch that runs along one of the roads in Sun Valley that has been filled with grass and foliage. The municipality has been clearing it and it now looks like it’s more than a ditch. They’ve been dredging the canal. As Mike walked along he pointed at a brick wall that holds up the sides…

The municipality have done a great job. This has really tidied up the area. We walked around to the Sun Valley pond which now has some water in it…

This was a walk in the mid afternoon. This morning after a rather restless night. It was not hard to know why…

This was after Truffles had woken up. When I woke up she was literally sleeping on two-thirds of my pillow. When I tossed her off the bed, she came back. Lady Muck, you absolutely are not sleeping there tonight!

One of the wonders of Cape Town hit today…berg winds. I got up early and washed a pair of curtains. They dried in an hour. I did a bit of work today, but also had some down time.

This evening, Mike and I had dinner with the Berettas and Thomases. It was a lovely evening. Good to catch up.  Very special.

Another nugget from my Christian walk happened not long after I’d asked Jesus to take over my life. I had been attending a youth group and they were always talking about the Bible. I didn’t have a Bible. I had a Gideon’s New Testament and used to read that. But I really wanted a proper Bible. I just didn’t know where to get one or how much they cost. I went to my Dad’s desk and opened one of the drawers. There was a brand new Bible still in the wrapping. I was in awe. I asked my Dad about it and he said, “I bought it for the first of my children who would come to know the Lord and I think that’s you!” I was so happy. I’ve still got the Bible although it’s very worn. The date inside is 14-8-1979.

Psalm 62:8

Trust in Him at all times. Pour out your heart to Him, for God is our refuge.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.
