Day of Appointments

Tuesday

Today I had a line up of appointments beginning with the builder at 9am. Werner has a massive cat…that must way about 10kg MORE than Truffles. Very very heavy! So entertaining!

Anyway, it was a really good meeting. He gave us the breakdown of all the costs relating to the build, looked at all we had already spent and how much we still have to go. We are within budget, but we are only going to put the shell on for the lower ground floor. That’s just a precaution in that it is not wise to do all the finishes to a space that is the lowest priority. We’ll put the building up and do the finishes from the top down.  Altogether it was very encouraging and we came away very happy to continue.

This evening Mike and I went to the site and I took a bunch of photos. This is the lower ground floor (basement) from the entrance…

Taking a step inside…

And looking from the far wall towards the entrance…

The cavity walls are coming along….they are already being filled with cement. Right next to the entrance is a “plant room” that will contain the solar set up

We have some way to go with the walls. Mike pointed out the height of the ceiling…

While we were there, I was looking at the main view out to the sea and started questioning Mike about the size and placement of the windows. After discussing it, I announced I was going to phone Werner because we need bigger windows on the left where there is a view. The right side there is no view because the cottage roof obstructs it. So I called Werner and he said “no problem, make the change,” so poor Mike is back to the plans tonight making that little window change before the light steel frame gets made.

No more changes! Ja right.

Second appointment today was the Orthodontist at 12-15pm. Ah I thought I was nearing surgery and that he would say “I want to see you next week to create a cast for the surgery.” Instead he said, “I want to see you next YEAR!” 🙄 So my next appointment is 21st January at 12 noon! I guess surgery will be March. I guess I had better make good friends with my braces for they will still be my companions for most of 2020.

Third appointment was a work team meeting at 3pm. That went on to just after 4pm. I managed 4 hours of work today despite being out the office for a few hours.

The plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.
