Daily Routine

I’ve been thinking about my daily routine. It’s 10pm now and I am really tired…it must have something to do with waking up before 5pm. It wasn’t intentional this morning, but I didn’t go back to sleep again. I read a bit of online news, telling Mike that 97-year-old Prince Philip was driving when he rolled his Jeep! Mike, who was sleeping, responded with what sounded like some clarity (he couldn’t remember it later!). I also told him about a few other news stories and asked him if he wanted coffee. He told me he’d have coffee later. I went downstairs, fed the cat and made my cappuccino.

By 6-30am I was on the treadmill.

Home just after 8am. Mike was awake but had not yet gone for a run. I showered and we then joined David and Julian for breakfast. A car swap was done. David, going away for the weekend, took over my car and I took over his.

We came home, I did about 45 minutes of work and then went off to my ladies Friday meeting. Mike was the hero of the day. During the 45 minute work stint, he cleaned and vacuumed the inside of David’s car.  He’s a keeper!

I got home around 1pm and apart from a couple of breaks, I worked pretty much from 1-30pm to just about 5-45pm. Julian arrived. We drove back to Echo and then walked to Harbour Bay. A wrap for dinner and home again where we watched Fraud or Fortune.  Julian has now left & I am almost ready for bed. Mike is watching a movie!

And so the cycle goes….me falling into bed between 10 & 11pm….Mike a little later. I’ll read a little, do a bit of Sudoku. Fall asleep quickly. Mike doesn’t always fall asleep so easily.

Me bounding out of bed at some ridiculously early hour. Mike sleeping a little later.

Our daily routine doesn’t vary that much. When Julian is here, there’s a lot more eating out. When he is back in Johannesburg, there’s almost no eating out and a bit more shopping.  While I’m working about 30 hours a week, I feel half retired.

Life is not nearly as busy as it was 10 years ago.

1 John 5:7

For there are three that bar witness in heaven; the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit; and these three are One.

A Bible verse I’ve never noticed.

These are the days.

Enjoy each one.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

Gym:

  • 30 minutes on the treadmill listening to Max McLean reading Genesis 37-39.
  • Pilates x 60 minutes – that was hectic.
