Celebrating Mike

Yay! Mike’s birthday. We both woke up really early (5amish) and I went downstairs and made coffee for him. I also had to retrieve a box with some gifts from the boot of my car. Cappuccino delivered, I returned with the box. He got a thing that I can’t remember the name of. David suggested I get it for his camera…I’ll find the picture…It’s a Job GorillaPod 3K stand. Mike was thrilled with it and the other bits and pieces I gave him.

By 6am I was at my desk working. It was shortly after this that a message came through from Stuart. Truffles had seemingly got into a fight during the night and had come to him for refuge. She had bled all over his sheet. Oh no.  I went outside to find her. She seemed very poorly. It appeared she had been badly scratched around her mouth and was still bleeding a bit. She had a small amount of food and then spent the day outside curled up in the dirt.  She is now on my desk asleep on a towel. She’s got a bit of energy but seems to be feeling bruised. Poor Truffles.  Hopefully tomorrow she will be better.

David came round mid morning and Stacey phoned to wish Mike as well. We are off to Swellendam on Saturday. Mike and I went down to the municipality and today their card machine was working, so the payment went through for the second dwelling fees. Now I just need to scan in the proof and email it to Leanne.

This afternoon, with the weather beautiful and cool, Mike and I headed for Clovelly where he played 9 holes. I love the golf course….it’s like an amazingly well-kept park…

We came home, showered and then headed for Fish Hoek to meet David for dinner at the Galley. It was a beautiful evening…

And while we were sitting there, John and Avril Thomas stopped in to say hello. The only got back from the US last night. Good to see them looking so well. Avril took this photo of us…

Nice memory to have. They were very sneaky and generous because when the bill arrived it was a whole lot less than it should have been.  For Christmas, David bought me my diary. I started finding his writing on specific pages….

Yip Important day indeed and there is another one tomorrow.
