Cappuccinos at the One & Only

3-51pm

Today began in an unexpected fashion. Now that we no longer have the responsibility of Mike’s Mom, we are able to get out a bit with One and Only entranceJulian when he comes. So off we went to the Waterfront. When he saw the One & Only Hotel, he thought he’d like to have a little look inside. I love Julian for this. He is so gung-ho and has no qualms about visiting  places dressed somewhat casually!  Sadly we had missed breakfast so we settled down by the window & ordered cappuccinos. The view was nothing less than spectacular…

The cappuccinos were pretty good, but came in a unique, all-in-one saucer-plate…

And here I am enjoying mine…

YumThe price of cappuccinos at the One & Only could be a lot higher. We  paid higher in Europe and just last week at the Colour Conference I felt slightly ripped off when I paid R27 for a pretty ordinary cappuccino at a pretty ordinary coffee shop at Grand West.  Certainly, it didn’t have the ambiance or the views that this Waterfront location enjoys.

I have not been to the Waterfront for years. We sauntered around, taking in the breath-taking views on what has to be one of the most perfect autumn days we have enjoyed this year…

We passed Nobel Square…

The statues of Mssrs Luthuli, Tutu, de Klerk and Mandela.

Funny that our lunch venue was pretty much at the other end of the  eatery scale…family friendly Waterfront Spur with a view fit for a king…

We came home via Hout Bay and Chapman’s Peak Drive which was lovely. On arrival we found a cautious truce had been made out on the balcony…

On getting onto Facebook, I had to smile when I saw this photo. It’s Prince Philip dressed up as a member of the Palace guard, but you couldn’t pull the wool over the Queen’s eyes…it’s lovely to see her laughing…

Isaiah 49:23 – “Kings and queens will serve you and care for all your needs. They will bow to the earth before you and lick the dust from your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD. Those who trust in me will never be put to shame.”

When you put your faith in God, anything is possible!

God bless you and have a fabulous week!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
