Canal Walk & Silvermine

Today we took a drive through to Canal Walk. I always enjoy going there but normally go on a week day. Going on a Saturday, I thought, was brave. The parking lot was almost full. I imagined chaos would reign inside, but there was enough room for all. It wasn’t overcrowded.

Canal Walk has worn very well. Built in 2000, it’s been well maintained and still has that air of Europe which I enjoy. This is one of the murals…

The roof….

The upper wall trim…

Paintings around the edges

An air of Italy that works well and gives a great ambience.

Inside Canal WalkAs far as shopping malls go, it’s a great place to visit.

That all happened this afternoon with Mike.

This morning, Heidi and I went for a walk up Silvermine. The view of Longbeach and Chapman’s Peak is absolutely spectacular…Longbeach with Chapman's PeakBack down by the reservoir, aloes are springing up and making a lovely splash of colour against a dull fire-damaged background…

AloesAnd across the bottom bridge, the water-lilies  are simply stunning…

Lillies at SilvermineOh my, oh my, we live in a stunning city. These words come to mind:

Psalm 24:1-2

The earth is the Lord’s and all it contains. The world and those who dwell in it. For He has founded it upon the seas and established in upon the rivers.

And we get to enjoy it!

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

Helga xx 🙂
