Bologna

Today has mainly been a day of travel. We left our hotel at just after 8am and after two train trips pulled into Bologna at about 1-30pm. We spent the afternoon settling in before hitting the streets and finding Bologna to be a city of porticos…

Churches…many many churches…we visited one massive one today, a massive amount of graffiti.

And they also have two famous towers…the Asinelli and Garisenda towers. One is leaning while the other looms high into the sky at 97m.

Anshar Photography took this photo

The Two Towers, Bologna

The one on the left is leaning badly. This is what its base looks like…

The other tower can be climbed! So we did. 496 steps to the top…where the view was spectacular…

This is the leaning tower from the top…

And here are Mike and I to prove we made it to the top….

#435 of my 1000 thanks is the fact that I am getting my blog out tonight! I can’t get onto my laptop on the hotel wi-fi, so I’m now sitting at Ristorante Trattoria Oberdan da Mario where we have just had….yes! Bolognaise.

Today I started the book of Jeremiah which is where these famous words come…

Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart;

Tomorrow, we see some of the churches and other amazingly archaic buildings that Bologna offers.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
