Beach Day

Sunday

Today was the day…

The sun shone and the sky was blue. There was a little wind but a lot less than last night.  We had breakfast and then walked to the end of the beach and back. Fish Hoek Beach from the Cat Walk…

Kayaks on the beach…

Trek fishermen pulling in their boat (photo cred: Mike)

The Trek fishermen have been around for generations. I found this photo online…

It’s interesting to read the history here.

We came home and I rested, while Mike couldn’t resist getting into his swimming costume and walking back to the beach for a swim. He said it was wonderful. I enjoyed sitting outside, reading and drinking tea. In the afternoon, I had a little snooze, did some more reading and then sat with Mike on the side balcony, in the sunshine and out of the wind and drank more tea.

A beautiful Sunday.

I will have to join Mike on walking to the beach for a swim. That’s next time. With Mike ‘on leave’ and now embracing retirement, even if it is for a few weeks (or days – whichever he chooses), I see many walks to the beach in the days ahead. He is already beginning to unwind.

Isaiah 41:10

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with My victorious right hand.

The best is yet to come.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
