Back to Normal – Back to Different

2-57pm

After a leisurely rising this morning, we cleaned and packed, intending on missing the “end of long weekend” traffic. We said good bye to Rooi Els, just short of high tide, with huge waves crashing against the rocks…

The road between Rooi Els and Gordon’s Bay is nothing less than spectacular….

After all the rain, there were signs of some rockfalls, but no sign of any big ones, the kind that caused all the touble forcing the closure of Chapman’s Peak Drive. The drive home was completely uneventful but we arrived home to pools of rain water in our bedroom following the storm. A quick mop-up and all was well.

So we get back to normal, although it is back to different, with Stacey and Adrian now having left Cape Town. They are currently with Adrian’s parents in the Karoo and on Wednesday will fly out of PE to Jo’burg before making the overnight flight to Singapore. Thereafter begins the real adventure.  She left a gift on my pillow, which I now have on…

Oh, I am going to miss Stacey. We didn’t see each other much more than on Sundays, but it is the emotional attachment which is hard to break! She has told us she can skype the home phone and we will have contact via whatsapp and online on g-talk and facebook. They are planning to be away 8 months, which includes my birthday, Stacey’s birthday, Christmas and Mike & David’s birthdays! They will be back for Adrian’s birthday!

I pick Granny up tomorrow at 3pm. From there I take her straight to the surgeon to have her stitches out. I am sure she has been fine & enjoyed her time at Nerina Gardens. If so, Mike & I will maybe have a break once every month or two and go away to Rooi Els for a weekend.

So now it’s back to show prep and getting my house in order! I have another challenge this week. Granny’s carer Mavis has to go back to the Transkei for a week. Sadly, her Dad passed away unexpectedly. So from this Wednesday to next Tuesday, I am again, ‘Mavis-less’. Tomorrow, it will be a high priority for me to start phoning around to find someone.

I wonder who the Lord has in mind…

Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus”.

Watch this space!

God bless you loads!

Secure, In His Grip,

Love Helga xx 🙂
