Amazing What You Can Do With Rocks

Monday

Today was the day…

Ruth came to clean the cottage. It was a reasonably good working day with about 6 hours done.

Mike and I walked to Fish Hoek in the morning as my regular Monday meeting was moved to tomorrow. In the late afternoon, we walked to the end of the street. While on the road, we met Gary and Sarah who live on Hillside Rd. Gary is American and Sarah South African. They said they watched our house go up during 2020. Each time they walked past they saw Werner and the workers doing something different.  They leave on Thursday for Europe where they will be walking the French Camino. Always fun to meet the neighbourhood folks.

I found this photo from more than 2 years ago before the house started being built. They had just built the stairs.

It’s amazing what you can do with rocks. The massive wall Courage has built has been built with the rocks from the land.

As we approach the two year mark of us having moved (it’s almost 23 months), we are still pinching ourselves that we get to live here.  The sea is never the same & the sweeping view is a front row seat to nature’s changing ways.  We are blessed.

Right now there is load shedding and the lights of Fish Hoek are out so it’s very dark outside. Our solar has been working well for us. Now that the cottage has been rewired, Mike connected our solar to the cottage lights. During load shedding, the guests in the cottage will at least have lights and WIFI.

Time for me to wind up for the evening.

Philippians 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again, Rejoice!

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
